Our Twisted Roots:

Wisywg.jpgAfter drudging through years of corporate bull, Jason decided to pursue his passion for cooking. With all of the will and little of the skill, Culinary School was the answer. There, he met Quincy Hart, a 35-year veteran of the Southwestern Bell Company and passionate home chef. The two instantly hit it off, constantly brainstorming on flavor profiles, restaurant concepts, and what makes the best all-American burger.

After years of planning, living like college students to save what they could, and developing a compelling business model to raise the rest of the money they needed, their dream was born. While opening nine other stores over the last seven years, including the first franchise in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2013, they’ve stuck to their roots and have used a hands-on approach to keep the food great in a unique atmosphere with tons of personality.

Shreveport:

Twisted Root is a perfect fit for Shreveport, and is special because it’s the first restaurant that we opened outside of Dallas. We feature funky music-themed décor, a huge bar, covered and uncovered family-friendly patios, and we strive to put a genuine smile on every face walking through the door.

Building the first stand-alone Twisted Root from the ground up, Grant Nuckolls was able to take advantage of the success and experience of the Twisted Root team to make this a success for him, the company, and his customers.

Twisted Root Bossier City is now open! Following Twisted Root’s tradition of repurposing old buildings into vibrant destinations, this Twisted Root is a former gas station that went through a total remodel, removing the carwash, gas tanks and ceiling. The new Twisted Root décor pays homage to the city’s close ties with the Barksdale Air Force Base with military grey tones and Air Force-themed exterior murals. Mr. Nuckolls even conceptualized a scale replica of a B-52 bomber for the dining room, working with local artists Jim Hayes and Bruce Allen to “fly” the plane out of the wall. Customers will also enjoy 1,000 square feet of covered patio and an even larger outdoor courtyard with landscaping and outdoor games. Come see us!
