Mr. Electric

The electricians at Mr. Electric are used to lighting up the room wherever they go—both with their electrical services and their million-watt smiles. But their favorite place to brighten is the local Ronald McDonald House, Mr. Electric’s charity of choice.

Ronald McDonald House has been providing a place to stay for families of children with serious medical conditions since 1974. As a company that understands the value of home, Mr. Electric has a heart for the mission of Ronald McDonald House. To show its support, Mr. Electric offers the local House in Temple its full capacity of electrical services completely free of charge.

This year, Mr. Electric also helped Ronald McDonald House in another way—by participating in its first-annual Heart the House Day. Led by The Dwyer Group, the holding company for Mr. Electric and other franchisees, Heart the House Day is a national campaign that provides local Houses with fundraising, goods donations, and hands-on help.

The Dwyer Group has been a national supporter of Ronald McDonald House since 2010, so it’s no wonder that Heart the House Day was a roaring success, despite this being its first year of operation. In fact, over seventy franchise shops across the United States and Canada participated in the campaign, along with more than two hundred individual volunteers. “Our franchise owners understand the importance of supporting and giving back to the communities in which they live and operate,” says Mike Bidwell, CEO of The Dwyer Group. “It warms my heart to see this outpouring of support.”

And pour out support, they did. On Heart the House Day, the staff of Mr. Electric spent hours cleaning, making repairs, performing yard work, and preparing meals for the Ronald McDonald House in Temple. According to owners Mike and Donna Muhlman, “It was a really fun day, and we felt really good being able to do this for them.”

But for the people at Mr. Electric, helping the community is more than just a one-day deal. Thanks to them, the lights in countless homes—and one House in particular—burn a little bit brighter all year long.
