Martin Hearing Mission

Martin Hearing and Hearing Missions

Periodically, Dr. Martin has the opportunity to participate in hearing missions, both as a hearing provider and teacher to graduate students learning their craft in the field.  In recent years, these mission trips have been to impoverished areas of the US- namely, Appalachia.  In April 2013, Martin Hearing was able to team up with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to provide free replacement hearing aids to the residents of West, Texas, after the devastating fertilizer explosion.

“Some of the West survivors were unable to come in so we went out to them,” said Dr. Melody Martin.  “Many were still shaken and healing from their wounds and loss. They are profoundly grateful for all the help they are receiving.”

Collaboration with the Starkey Hearing Foundation and Martin Hearing is now ongoing as the charity work continues on a case by case basis for needy individuals who come into the office.

Martin Hearing collects used hearing aids to be refurbished and to be given to those in need locally.  Any make or model of hearing aid is accepted and all donations are tax deductible. For more information, contact Martin Hearing at 254-732-9741 or visit www.martinhearing.com.
