WACO FOUNDERS LIONS CLUB

Waco Founders Lions Club is one of the oldest Lions Clubs in the world with continuous operation!  Our parent organization, Lions Club International is the world’s largest service organization with over 1.35 million members in more than 45,000 clubs in over 206 countries.  Our motto is “We Serve”.  Some of the ways your local Waco Founders Lions Club is serving are as follows:

   KidSight Vision Screening with Spot

  Spot Screening by Lions Clubs are finding an average of 20% of the kids from 6 months to 60 months of age are " recommended for eye examination".  Vision disorders stand a chance of correction without surgery if detected at this early age. Lions can make a difference like never before in our history.

The Lions Park on 42^nd Street is making final preparations to complete a Vision Screening Pad for regular vision screening clinics.

     Eyeglass & Hearing Aid Recycling

     Waco Founder Lions Club participates through the collection of used eyeglasses by having drives and putting out collection boxes in our community. These used glasses are transferred to a processing and distribution center then made available to those in need. Unused hearing aids are cleaned and sanitized through a partnership with an audiologist and redistributed to those in need.

          The Texas Lions Camp

 The primary purpose of the Camp is to provide, without charge, a camp for physically disabled, hearing/vision impaired, down-syndrome and diabetic children from the State of Texas, regardless of race, religion, or national origin. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere wherein campers will learn the “Can Do” philosophy...Waco Founder Lions Club sponsored 6 qualified campers and volunteers to drive campers to the Kerrville Camp location and return the campers for those unable to arrange transportation.
