Since 1971 Tennyson Playcare has been the choice of many families in Waco, TX for trusted daycare in a warm, caring environment. We provide fun and enriching learning activities for children of all ages between newborn and 11 years. Our focus is your child and their growth is our mission.

Program Goals: To provide quality programs for young children and their families based on scientific developmental theory, research and developmentally appropriate practice. To provide education in all aspects of child development and family studies in child directed, inquiry based play centered learning environment that is nurturing, safe and secure.

Our Philosophy - Tennyson Playcare Center believes that each child is unique and learns best through play and exploration of a variety of materials and environments. We are dedicated to providing model developmental care for each child in a nurturing, secure and stimulating learning environment. We seek to create an environment of rich and diverse experiences that will take the children along new paths, deepen their understanding and skills and give added complexity to the talents and personal qualities they possess.

Our philosophy is soundly based in child development and educational theory. The staff provides an innovative and creative model of early childhood education in a supportive family environment. Children of all abilities, from infants through School age, are welcome to play, explore and expand their repertoire of skills.

• Goals for Children - The primary goal of Tennyson Playcare Center is to meet the needs of the whole child through a high quality developmental program.

More specific goals are to:

1. Provide each child with opportunities and encouragement to express his/her individual creativity in a variety of ways.
2. Foster the development of large and small motor skills through a variety of activities.
3. Stimulate language, problem solving skills and cognitive development that leads to higher ordered thinking skills and provides the foundation for early math and literacy skills.
4. Develop social skills through interactions with other children and adults.
5. Encourage the child to appreciate and respect themselves and others.

Our rates are competitive with other local daycares. We have family discount rates available for families with more than 1 child. We offer rates for half day, before and after school, and provided there are spaces available we have rates for less than 5 days a week.
